ON The ISSUES
Growing up in a small farming community, I learned how to properly take care of any firearm I was able to own or shoot – in a safe manner. The military reinforced my resolve to defend ourselves and our right to bear arms. I will protect our Second Amendment rights.
I will never allow the government to prevent law-abiding citizens from defending themselves.
Americans deserve health care solutions that provide access and affordable and transparent pricing. We have some of the best doctors, physicians and specialists in the world, but the path is riddled with potholes and roadblocks. Let’s put Americans in charge of their health care and limit the reach of the federal government in those decisions. As a former Combat Medic in the U.S. Army, I understand all too well the experience of being a patient in socialized medicine, both in the military and the VA. Healthy competition brings results that a monopoly can’t offer. I will fight to improve the quality and accessibility of our health care system.
It’s amazing what happens when entrepreneurs, a timely idea and free market principles combine. Our economy gains someone who will build something meaningful, improve a process or product or make life more enjoyable. In the past decade, we’ve made amazing strides in technology, innovation and ingenuity. We need to continue to be champions of those who are brave enough to start their own companies and hire others in the process. It takes leadership to make this happen and I’m ready to ensure that radical policies don’t stifle business growth.
Imagine if we took all of the successful principles that made America great and neglected to teach them or the values that made them happen to the next generation. Sadly, we don’t have to imagine because our future leaders are being indoctrinated with ideas that teach them to divide themselves by race, class and gender. Only by mentoring and teaching our youth about the importance of worthwhile work will we be able to get America back on track. Vocational training has evolved and is giving those who want to enter the workforce a fast track to success. Our skilled trades such as plumbers, electricians and welders have seen a need like never before and we need to make clear paths to those vocations.
Critical Race Theory (CRT) is a left-wing, anti-American, Marxist political indoctrination ideology pushed into our classrooms by radicals under the guise of “racial sensitivity.” I will fight to keep CRT out of our schools systems and at all levels of public education.
I served my country and will continue to fight to secure our elections. We need to purge voter rolls of illegal aliens, dead people, and other ineligible individuals. I will fight for voting integrity by Investigating and prosecuting voter fraud.
My father served his country as a Police Officer in the U.S. Army. He served his community after his deployment to Vietnam as Patrolman. Sadly, after 18 months he was killed in the line of duty. Law enforcement will always have a fierce advocate when I’m elected to Congress. I believe in justice and that no one is above the law. My mentor, Paul J. Meyer encouraged me to start a nonprofit organization in my father’s name. Along with a wonderful community of supporters, I spearheaded KPD LEAF which supports the officers, staff and family members of the Killeen Police Department in their time of need.
Secure the Border
To end illegal immigration at our southern border, we need to complete the wall and boost patrols. Illegal immigration encourages and funds human/child trafficking. Human trafficking has become a lucrative criminal market in the United States. The commodities involved in this illicit trade are men, women, and children. Traffickers transport undocumented migrants into the U.S. for work in licit, semi-illicit and illicit industries. The traffickers’ foremost goal is to maximize profits — often resulting in physical and mental exploitation of the victims. The sale and distribution of trafficked humans in the U.S. is a global, regional, and national phenomenon. I will focus on policies that protect innocent victims of human trafficking and that promote legal immigration. We must start with actually securing the border instead of just talking about it.
I will always compassionately stand up for pro-life policies in Washington. For every Planned Parenthood, there are 20 comprehensive health centers that do not receive funding. The $500 million dollars that Planned Parenthood receives annually should be reallocated to these comprehensive health centers that provide a much broader range of holistic services including mammograms, a service that Planned Parenthood has falsely claimed to provide. Every human life has value, meaning, potential and purpose.
I served my country for four and a half years of active service, with deployments to Kosovo, Kuwait and Iraq (OIF). During these years, I learned volumes about team building, leadership, and camaraderie. My goal is to fight for every Veteran; to fix the current health and medical issues at the VA, to address the number of homeless Veterans on the streets, to get additional funding and resources so they can overcome any physical and mental issues they may face.
I’ve been blessed to have worked and volunteered with over 250 Veteran Service Organizations in the last 16 years. I will continue to seek out new and innovative ways to connect Veterans to each other and their benefits. I will also fight to help fund the organizations that are truly making a difference in the lives of those who served our country.
I will support term limits in Congress. The powerful and well-connected should not be able to continue to use their status to influence elections for decades at a time. It is important for outsiders to stand a chance against a political system that backs wealthy elitists over the constituents they were elected to represent.
